Biography

Marta Rams graduated in statistics from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and later studied a Master’s Degree in Big Data and Business Intelligence at the Open University of Catalonia. After several years working in public statistics (IDESCAT, Gabinet tècnic de turismo y IERMB), she specialized as Business & CRM Analyst for Elogia, an specialized agency in ecommerce. During the last years, she has expanded her field in advanced analytical projects applied to retail, supply chain and in transmitting her fan for the data and the quality of these in Penguin Random House.

In the publishing industry each book is a start up being one of the main challenges to identify the right time and optimal amount of books that should be reprinted.
For this reason, a prediction model has been developed that determines the volume of sales of a title from specific existing variables that can determine the success of a book and in the future be able to datificate so far intangible, typical of the publishing sector, enriching that way the current model.
